99 Dom-Ino - Trailer (2015)

Inspired in part by the vernacular Ottoman architecture the studio Space Caviar observed during his travels in Turkey in 1911, Le Corbusier’s Maison Dom-Ino, first presented a century ago, could be read as a manifesto for openness in architecture—a hypothetical proposal for a new symbiosis between the hand of the architect and the individuality of the occupant. Through a series of 99 short films, 99 Dom-Ino takes the centennial of Le Corbusier’s design as the trigger for a survey of Italian domesticity and its relationship with the landscape, throughout the full length of the peninsula, over the last 100 years.
Space Caviar is a design research collaborative operating at the intersection of architecture, technology, politics and the public realm. Based in Genoa, Italy, the studio uses exhibitions, publishing, writing and film to investigate and document the production of space and contemporary modes of habitation as forms of social and political practice. To uncover the extent of Dom-Ino's influence on the Italian landscape, Genoa-based design collective Space Caviar traversed the country, documenting 99 Dom-Ino-inspired structures by local architects. The project, highlighted in a new piece on Wired, culminated in 99 exquisite mini-documentaries.

99 Dom-Inos was commissioned and first exhibited by last summer's La Biennale di Venezia and will be on view at the Munich Film Museum later this month.

shotnlust.com is a visual collection of Art stories:
Photo, Cinema, ShortArt.s, Dance

At the beginning it was the idea of building a small arts library. Then, little by little, the commitment to share it.
Choice, preference, ignorance, evidence, all assumed.
A desire to discover, an encouragement to remember. Sometimes.
